Fire Inspections
Fire inspection is an excellent program to maintain
the fire, health and safety that was designed into
the structure when it was built. Fire inspections
can assist in the ISO insurance rating through fire
inspections and enforcement. Some of the areas a
fire inspection would cover are:
1. Exit doors and rated corridors.
2. Fire rated constructions.
3. Fire protection such as sprinkler systems,
alarms and exit and emergency lighting.
4. Grease hood inspections and fire extinguishers.
5. Control of flammables and combustibles
materials.
6. Inspection of fire lanes and fire department
connections and fire boxes.
The main items for a fire inspection program is to
establish regulations affecting or relating to
structures, processes, premises and safeguards
regarding:
¬ The hazards of fire and explosion arising from
the storage, handling or use of structures,
material or devices;
¬ Conditions hazardous to life, property or public
welfare in the occupancy of structures or premises;
¬ Fire hazards in the structure or on the premises
from occupancy or operation; Matters related to the
construction, expansion, repair, alteration or
removal of fire suppression or alarm
systems.
